The story of Antell

Antell’s story began in Oulu in 1880

Strong-willed and determined, a mother of five Katri Antell started the company by selling bread. The operations of Katri Antell’s bakery later expanded into cafés and catering services. Katri’s work was first continued by her three daughters and later by her grandchildren.

Since 1968, Antell has been owned by the Lantto family. First Viljo Lantto, then his son Ilkka Lantto with his wife Pipu expanded Antell’s operations to workplace canteens in the 1980s. In the 2000s, Ilkka and Pipu’s children Tomi and Annukka Lantto took over the leadership of the family business.

145 years after its founding, Antell has around 60 lunch and staff restaurants across Finland, employing around 270 food service professionals.
